Straight Lay

Calculate the room area, then divide by the tile area to get the number of tiles. Always add extra for cuts, waste, and future repairs.

Straight lay has least waste (10%). Diagonal patterns add visual interest but increase waste to 15%. Herringbone is most complex with 20% waste.

Start from the center of the room and work outward. Use spacers for consistent grout lines. Let mortar cure 24 hours before grouting.
